These 18ct yellow gold bands were a commission for a father and son. Both Indian Nationals, they wanted two rings created that featured the base of the Lion Capital of Ashoka ,the national symbol for India (pictured below).
This involved sketching a lion, bull, elephant, and a horse in pencil. These sketches were then imported, digitised and a file created ready for engraving. I then worked in partnership with a specialist engraving facility, which was able to use high powered lasers to engrave the designs precisely onto the 18ct gold bands.
The intersection between digital and physical making has always been an interest of mine so this was a fantastic project to work on. Above are four pictures illustrating the four sections of each ring; I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
